Dr. Thornwell Parker, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Elevate Medical Spa and Cosmetic Surgery in Dallas, TX, is proud to offer Cellfina, the only FDA-cleared procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years. By targeting the fatty tissue often found in the thighs and buttocks, Cellfina releases tight fibers that cause dimpling and smoothes the skin, revealing tauter and tighter skin. In the past, cellulite was nearly impossible to treat successfully, but with Cellfina, results are indeed attainable. Three-year data with a patient satisfaction rate of up to 96% shows that Cellfina truly works.

Cellfina is safe and effective for the vast majority. However, contraindications may include those with an infection, loose skin, diabetes, or varicose veins, as well as those who may be pregnant, taking blood thinners, or morbidly obese. Candidates most likely to yield optimal results from this procedure:
- Live a healthy, active lifestyle
- Are at a stable weight
- Have dimple-like cellulite
- Have good skin tone
Before the procedure, Dr. Parker will ask you to stand while he uses a marker to identify the cellulite in the treatment area. Next, a local anesthesia will be administered and your procedure will be initiated. Using suction stabilization to keep the area taut, a microblade will be inserted beneath the skin via the Cellfina handheld device. Through the use of a guided subcision technique, the fibrous bands underneath the skin will be released, allowing the cellulite dimples to “bounce back” and relax, leaving behind smoother skin. This procedure can typically be performed in under an hour.
What to Expect
In most circumstances, you will be able to return to your normal routine the day following your procedure. However, we advise you to refrain from vigorous exercise for a few days to allow the treatment area the opportunity to heal. Side effects of Cellfina can include bruising, swelling, and tenderness. Bruising may appear significant but resolves with time. The other side effects are not typically severe and subside in a matter of days. Following your Cellfina treatment, you can expect to see visible results within three days with improvement and peak results in the weeks and months following. Patients who maintain a healthy weight will yield the longest-lasting results, but the procedure can be safely repeated if requested.
