About Cosmetic Ear Surgery
Ears that stick outward and protrude, are misshapen and uneven, or are visibly too large can have a negative impact and affect your self-confidence, especially as a child. Ear reshaping surgery (also known as otoplasty) is a cosmetic treatment that can assist in redefining the size and shape of the ears and create a pleasing look. In addition, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thornwell Parker can employ otoplasty to address torn earlobes, completing the procedure with a new piercing after healing is complete. Our Elevate Medical Spa and Cosmetic Surgery team in Dallas, TX helps individuals overcome the fear of showing their ears by having this life-changing facial surgery. Regardless of the deformity, ear surgery allows one to display their face with self-assurance.
Ear surgery can be done on a patient at any age after six. If you feel embarrassed by the appearance of your ears because they stick out or are too large, otoplasty may be the ideal surgery to attain a natural-looking appearance. If you suffer from a damaged earlobe, you are also a candidate for otoplasty.

"Tori is the best! Love her!"- R.G. / Facebook / Apr 26, 2019
"I got my first hydrofacial. Amazing!!!!! Life is too short to not be good to myself so I intend on making this a regular occurrence! My friend got one too and holy moly, the before and after pictures speak for themselves. Skin care to this degree was new for him but Felicia took her time to make sure he was comfortable throughout the entire process. Already looking forward to my April hydrofacial!"- R.B. / Yelp / Feb 15, 2019
"I was diagnosed with a Basal Cell Carcinoma on my shoulder and found Dr. Parker via his website. He was very thorough in answering all my concerns and questions, making me feel comfortable about the Mohs procedure. The results were better then I could have ever expected. The scar isn't even noticeable and people would never guess I ever had the Mohs procedure done!! Between Dr. Parker, the nurses and the delightful front staff, I felt very welcomed and treated just life family!"- A. / Wellness / Oct 25, 2018

Cosmetic ear surgery is completed using a form of local anesthesia or IV sedation. In most cases, the incision is made near the back of the ear or inside the inner ear folds. During surgery, cartilage may be removed or added to create a more natural appearance. It is usual for both ears to be altered during otoplasty to ensure they look and appear balanced. Once the ears are surgically corrected, the incisions are closed with sutures and are bandaged so they can remain safeguarded for healing.
What to Expect
When surgery is over and it is safe to leave the outpatient surgery center, you will rest and recover at home. We will give a healing protocol. It is important to not touch, pick at, or scratch your ears. Furthermore, patients should avoid lying on them and sleep in an upright position for the first several days. We will ask to see our ear surgery patients back within the first week — during this time, we’ll remove the bandages and look at your ears. Natural-looking ears are noticeable almost immediately, and the results will continue to improve as you heal.
