Every mole we remove is sent for pathology. Because our team includes fellowship-trained surgical expertise, closure is planned along natural skin lines for the least visible scar. Removal of suspicious or symptomatic growths is typically covered by insurance; purely cosmetic removal is quoted at your visit.

Will removing a mole leave a scar?
Any removal leaves a small mark, but we plan every closure along natural skin lines, and most fade to a thin line that is far less noticeable than the growth was. Where a mole sits in a cosmetically sensitive area, we discuss the expected result before we begin.
Does insurance cover mole removal?

What is the difference between a cyst and a lipoma?
A cyst is a sac beneath the skin filled with keratin; it can become inflamed or infected. A lipoma is a soft, benign growth of fatty tissue that sits deeper. Both are common, both are benign, and both can be removed in the office under local anesthesia.
