Known for creating elegant, natural-looking results, Dr. Pownell performs the full spectrum of cosmetic plastic surgery, including facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast enhancement, and body contouring. His extensive training in both Head and Neck Surgery (Otolaryngology) and Plastic Surgery provides an extraordinary understanding of facial anatomy, bringing an added level of precision to every procedure. While cosmetic surgery is the focus of his practice today, reconstructive surgery continues to influence the way he thinks about form, function, and aesthetics. Throughout his career, Dr. Pownell has helped advance the specialty through leadership, education, and service. He has served as President of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, held academic appointments at UT Southwestern Medical Center, authored numerous scientific publications, and has been recognized by his peers among Dallas' Best Doctors and Texas Super Doctors. Yet when asked what he considers his greatest professional accomplishment, his answer is simple: "The thousands of patients that I've taken care of."

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pownell enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and six grandchildren. A lifelong runner, he has completed multiple marathons around the world, including the New York City Marathon twice and the Houston Marathon alongside both of his sons, an accomplishment he treasures as much as any finish line. His commitment to serving others extends beyond his practice through medical mission work in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala and active involvement in his church, reflecting the same compassion and purpose that define the care he provides each day.
